RKB spherical roller bearings are used on the pressure rollers of pellet presses at a Portuguese producer of pellets and torrefied pellets. Each press is equipped with two pressure rollers, with two bearings per roller.

Working with Enriel Soluçoes, a local distributor, RKB supplied two special bearing designs for trials as alternatives to bearings from another premium manufacturer. Both designs were evaluated under continuous 24/7 production conditions.

The customer reported satisfactory performance from both designs, including the possibility of extending operating intervals between maintenance shutdowns. Following the trials, the customer placed a further bearing order, with delivery planned to coincide with upcoming scheduled maintenance shutdowns.
