Since 2007, RKB has collaborated with the ArcelorMittal site in Differdange, supplying bearings for the stands of its Grey rolling mill dedicated to heavy sections, including jumbo beams and sheet piles.

The mill features reversible duo blooming cages manufactured by SACK (now MDS), operating with hydrostatic bearings and RKB 293/530 thrust bearings. Riccardo Martina, Belux and France Director

Known as Train GREY, the mill is based on Henry Grey’s rolling system, where a dedicated flange-finishing stand (refouleuse) enables the final H-profile to be produced entirely by rolling.

Today, Grey-process jumbo beams are widely used in major civil engineering and high-rise construction projects worldwide.
