In July 2023, during a visit to an aluminium plant with our Spanish partner Rubix, we identified premature failures in a set of bearings manufactured by another premium brand used in their rolling mill. After analysing the issue, RKB proposed a new solution using our double-row angular contact ball bearings. The first units were delivered in November 2023 to begin a trial and obtain homologation.

The bearings were installed at the beginning of 2024, and the trial commenced shortly after, on January 15, 2024.

RKB visited the plant in mid-March 2024 to follow up on the trial. Our bearings operated without issues during the first three months. During the same period, the previous configuration was also used in another roll, and one of the bearings failed before reaching three months of operation.

During the March visit, the plant’s technical manager stated that for the trial to be considered successful, our bearings needed to operate reliably until June 2024 (six months).

In 2025, the aluminium producer confirmed the homologation of our solution for their rolling mill, as it had exceeded expectations. As a result, we received a new order through Rubix. Area Manager Javier Yrazusta
